Each student was assigned a country or region that was under represented in most textbooks for their involvement in and around World War 1. From there, we had to research an aspect of our country’s involvement. We then had to create a poem about that event and write an explanatory essay about the event. To create our poem, we had to pick a specific poem form and follow the correct meter, feet and rhyme. After this, we made and presented a presentation to the class on our event in order to inform our peers on these underrepresented contributions. The final aspect of this project was the creation of our book, History Through the Eye of the Living. Each student was put on a Book Team to create this book. 6 teams were formed; Fundraising, Global Promotion, Local Promotion, Website Team, Event team, and Design team. We all had specific jobs within our teams, producing not only a book but a website, videos, posters, and a final, beautiful, book launch party to celebrate all that we’ve created.

I was part of the Design Team. We were responsible for the actual creation of the book. We created the layout, cover and overall design of the book. I created the Cover Page with the help of Claire and in collaboration with the other members of the Team. We all worked together on most aspects of the book to create a very professional book.
